Acceptance criteria

For each story, you can uniquely define acceptance criteria. These are the things that need to be true, in order for the story to be considered complete. They are often the tests that need to be passed before the story is considered complete.

For people defining what work needs to be done, acceptance criteria help them define the standards that they need to be adhered to. They form part of the requirement of the story.

For people delivering the work, acceptance criteria help define what work needs to be done and remove ambiguity from stories.

At a glance, you can see how many acceptance criteria each story has met and which ones are still to be met. This is another useful measure of progress of a story.
